Toddler Style - Easter Edition!

This post is crazy late. And I really don't have any excuse other than "life". It happens faster than I can keep up with 99% of the time. But as I always say, better late than never. Easter came and passed in the blink of an eye! I feel like I spent weeks on Noah's outfit for the big day. It was too much work (and too cute, if you ask me) not to share, even if it's super late.

I'll be up-front with you, his ensemble was not any of my creative work. I'm horrible at pulling outfits together, so I really appreciate sites like The Children's Place that do all the deciding work for you in their "Outfits We Love" section. This adorable little number popped up there and I think my heart skipped a beat.

Oh. my. word. I didn't care how much it was going to set me back - Noah needed that exact outfit for Easter. It was the cutest thing I had seen and believe me, I browsed EVERY children's clothing website and store. But my dreams came to a screeching hault when I noticed the majority of this outfit was out of stock. The only thing available was a similar short-sleeved oxford shirt and the boat shoes, which I quickly added to my shopping cart. And then, a pretty intense wild goose chase ensued for the remaining pieces.

First, we HAD to find the yellow chino pants. Those were what immediately caught my eye about this outfit, probably because I'm a huge lover of yellow! I ended up finding them on Amazon for a decent price. (I later saw them in the clearance section at TCP outlet store, but they had every size except Noah's!).

And then the suspenders - how could we not do suspenders? Little boys look so cute in them. I found identical ones to TCP's online at Gymboree. And what's more, they were on sale for under $10! I was worried Noah wouldn't like them and would rip them off, but he actually did really great! And they extend a good bit, so I am sure we will get plenty of use out of them for years to come.

The tie posed a big ol' problem for me. I loved that it matched the hat perfectly. But I couldn't find either, anywhere. So I checked Totspot (if you have kids, you NEED this app) and lo and behold I found the cutest used blue and yellow tie for a great price. I sell and buy a ton of Noah's clothes on Totspot - it never lets me down!

So then all we were really left with was finding was a hat. I searched high and low and just couldn't find THE ONE. So, we ended up re-using the one Noah wore last year for his 1-year pictures from Janie and Jack. It barely fit, but we made it work for one last occasion.

Okay, so mission complete, right? No. This outfit was going to be the death of me. The boat shoes arrived and they were too little. Noah has a really wide foot, so I should've known better. Shoes rarely fit him unless they are made in an extra wide size. We looked everywhere for something similar but came up empty-handed. I decided to take one more look at TCP outlet and by luck, we were able to make these navy blue shoes work in a size up.

All in all, seeing him in this outfit  made all the headache worthwhile. It was perfect for him and it made my heart smile just seeing him emjoying all the wonders of Spring in his cute little yellow pants. I know there won't be many holidays left that he'll let me dress him however I want, so I'm taking full advantage as long as I can!
